Ogeechee Technical College has announced the appointment of Lisa Meehan as the new Dean for Academic Affairs, with a focus on health sciences. Meehan brings more than two decades of experience in healthcare education and administration to the position.
In her new role, Meehan will oversee curriculum development, faculty support, and student success initiatives across the college's health science programs. These include nursing, medical assisting, and other allied health fields. She will also work closely with local healthcare partners to ensure that program offerings align with workforce needs in the region.
Meehan previously served in leadership roles at several technical colleges, where she was known for building strong clinical partnerships and improving student retention rates. She holds a master's degree in nursing education and has worked as a registered nurse earlier in her career.
College officials say Meehan's practical background and her focus on hands-on training make her a strong fit for the institution. They also point to her record of expanding simulation-based learning opportunities, which allow students to practice skills in realistic settings.
Meehan says she is excited to join the team and looks forward to helping students succeed. She plans to start by meeting with faculty and reviewing current program outcomes. Her first day on campus is set for early next month.
