May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Tillamook County Suicide Prevention Coalition is stepping up with a series of events designed to support the local community. The first gathering takes place on Thursday, May 7th at the Tillamook Library, focusing specifically on youth mental health and self-care.

The event, timed to coincide with National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day, aims to give young people practical tools for managing stress and building resilience. Organizers say the goal is to create a welcoming space where teens and children can learn about self-care strategies without stigma.
